Hunting-Dearborn Division is Hiring a Tool Crib Technician Near Fryeburg, ME

Job Description

Hunting, Dearborn Division is seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented, Tool Crib Technician to join our team in Fryeburg, ME. The Tool Crib Technician will work with the area supervisor to coordinate and accomplish the tasks related to department level production tooling. The technician will be responsible for maintaining all aspects of inventory, including, but not limited to purchasing, organizing, maintaining accurate inventory counts, interfacing with vendors, planning future tool inventory in support of production schedule and working to resolve tooling performance or availability challenges. Effective verbal and written communication are essential skills. We desire a solid foundation in high school math and the ability to efficiently problem solve.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct physical inventories to ensure that stock is in designated locations in appropriate quantities.
  • Maintain computerized spare parts inventory system for department specific replacement parts, tooling, operating supplies, and equipment.
  • Verify accuracy of received and shipped materials.
  • Communicate with vendors to solve issues and discrepancies.
  • Use technical knowledge and experience to troubleshoot tooling.
  • Assist department team members in locating, maintaining, and procuring tools.
  • Interface with the department to determine and extend cutting tool life cycle.
  • Generate inventory cost and consumption reports.
  • Responsible for tool pre-setters and all solid model assemblies.
  • Responsible for tool offset uploads and downloads for production machinery.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • High School diploma, or equivalent
  • Associate’s degree in a technical or related field, preferred.
  • Two years inventory control experience, preferred.
  • Ability to create and maintain systems for organization.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Time management.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematical operations and measurement conversions.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit depending on the work being completed. The employee is required to occasionally use hands to handle tools and inspect parts and equipment. Employees must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and push material carts.
